About Joan Sorita L.M.P.

Joan has been working with and riding horses for 34 years. She decided in 1982 to study how horses can be rehabilitated to a level of normal life, if at all possible . She was ask to manage Olivia Newton-John's ranch, and there learned much more about rehabing horses. Olivia is known for getting horses that have had problems and giving them a great home. With state of the art facilities and various vets, Joan was able to practice and gain a tremendous amount of experience.

An opportunity came along for Joan and her husband Robert to have a farm in California of their own and started a boarding and rehabilitation place. Working at horse shows, being on radio talk shows, and traveling with a vet to educate people and horses were a part of Joan's life style. While traveling Joan and her husband decided after 12 years it was time to move forward and move to Washington State where she now resides with her practice.

Joan is currently working in the paint and quarter horse world and travels to national shows with her clients to keep the horses at their optimum level. She is a big believer of integrative medicine and how important it is in the horse world.

Joan also had the opportunity to apprentice and work with Lola Michelin and after 2 1/2 years, together they founded the Northwest School of Animal Massage. Though Joan teaches at NSWAM on a part-time basis, her emphasis is working on equine and human clients.
